WHAT?!! Its already April 2014? Where has the time gone? Is everyone else experience this phenomenon or is it just me? Crazy calendar.
I am in awe that my blog and channel have been able to survive under such neglect. Thanks to everyone who has stuck around and all the encouraging messages like, “Where is Cate? Is she still creating?” Makes me feel so loved.
Well, let me tell you where I’ve been and what I’ve been up to. I will try to sum up and spare you the boring details:
Fall 2013. Had a MAJOR influx of photography work that basically took over months September through December. It was fantastic and exhausting and kept me very very busy. (If you are interested in seeing more or my recent work, visit my photography page on Facebook).
So I spent all fall doing the best I could to capture these families in the most appealing light for their Christmas cards and then I myself sent out this awkward family photo shown below:
Yes we did. Best Christmas card photo ever, don’t you agree. It was my husbands request and I think he pulled it off fabulously.
My family spent Christmas in Idaho visiting my parents and brothers and sisters and trying our best to have a good time despite a grueling 30 hour drive (one way) and getting sick with the flu. All I can say is we will not be driving again. Planes were invented for a reason and I plan on using them in the future. Below is a photo I took of my awesome family. I was fevering this day and little Sawyer had barely gotten over the flu himself.
In February I taught a Photography course with another local photographer Beth V. (Check out her site here). It went really well and we are planning on doing future classes together. I’m also working on creating online photography courses for moms/dads who’d like to take their DSLR skills up a notch. I’m hoping to get something up by the end of May.
I’ve also been teaching acrylic painting classes at a local studio called “Art Class and Wine Glass” in Houston. Its a BYOB art center where I teach groups of 10-25 people who would like to have a good time and paint for fun. It is a super fun job and I LOVE it. Below is a painting I did for a Valentine’s Day class in February. If you happen to live in the Houston area, check out “Art Class and Wine Glass” and when you schedule a class, request me as your teacher! If you don’t live nearby, no worries, I’m planning on doing several more painting tutorials on my channel.
In March I was busy once again with photography work, mostly doing senior photo shoots but also doing some adorable Easter pics with our new pet bunny Peep.
So yeah, its been a busy 2014 so far and the time has just completely whizzed by. I’ve been up to a lot of things but probably the most exciting thing that has been occupying my time/brain is well…maybe thats news for a separate post. ;) To be continued…
